Two Armed Robberies Tuesday Night In Rocky Mount
One involved shots being fired at the victims, the other where the victim was pistol whipped.

Police in one Eastern Carolina city are investigating two armed robberies that happened two hours apart Tuesday night. One involved shots being fired at the victims, the other where the victim was pistol whipped.
Rocky Mount police say around 8:00 p.m. three people went to play cards at 1012 Winston Walk, When they arrived they were confronted with three armed men who demanded money. Two of the victims ran and were shot at, with one of them returning gunfire.
No one was injured and so far police have arrested one suspect, 17-year-old Donte Howard with armed robbery and discharging a firearm in city limits.
The second robbery happened just after 10:00 p.m. at the corner of Goldleaf Street and Carolina Avenue.
Police say two men approached the victim, who was walking to his mother's house, and hit him in the head with a pistol. The victim was then thrown to the ground, kicked in the face and stole $900.
So far police say they have no suspects in that robbery.
