No arrests have been made in a shooting and stabbing Sunday in Farmville.

Police say just before 1:00 p.m. they responded to a shooting at 4006 South Main Street. There they found Ellis Hunter lying in the front yard of his home with two shots to his lower body.

As police were investigating the shooting, a report came in that another man showed up at Pitt County Memorial Hospital with multiple stab wounds. Police say it looks like Hunter and William Payton had been involved in a fight which Hunter stabbed Payton and then he was shot.

Police have recovered both weapons and are asking that anyone who witnessed the event to please come forward.

Both men remain hospitalized at PCMH.
