Patrolling the streets after dark is something that not everyone is cut out for, but in our Eastern Carolina After Dark Series, Ken Heineck tells us that the job can be rewarding.
He spent the night in Lenoir County learning about life behind the badge when the sun goes down. He saw everything from a fight between a mother and daughter to a possible case of child neglect.

I would like to personally thank all the law enforcement officers that risk their lives everyday to protect and serve us. You truly are appreciated for the job that you do. A big thanks to the station for recognizing you and letting the community know the risks you take for us. There is no greater love, than to lay down one's life for another...that is the ULTIMATE EXAMPLE!!!!

The officer in this video was not wearing his seatbelt. I cant believe your station actually let that one get by, and HELLO uhh aren't police/sheriff's supposed to set an example of the law.
