The murder trial of former Cherry Point Marine Gary Hayes was abruptly stopped Tuesday morning.
Hayes is accused of killing Odell Foster back in April of 2008.
The stop came when Superior Court Judge Ben Alford learned that 20 pages of notes made by the psychiatrist who examined Hayes were not provided to either the defense or prosecutors.
The discovery came as prosecutors cross-examined a forensic psychiatrist.
Before the discovery, the psychiatrist said Hayes felt harassed and threatened by Foster.
The trial will pick up again at 9-30 Thursday morning.
