There is now a suspect in Tuesday afternoon's shooting that wounded two Washington men.
Police are looking for Omar Blount of East 7th Street. The 28-year-old is wanted for attempted first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Two men were shot at 7th and Respess Streets, a street corner known for crime in Washington. Police say William Bailey III of Gladden Street and George Harvey of Grimesland were both shot in the legs and had non-life threatening injuries.
The Department of Correction says Blount served time in prison for several drug offenses and was last released in August of 2004.
Current court calendars show Blount is supposed to appear Thursday in Pitt County to answer cocaine charges and a charge of assault on a government official. In Beaufort County Blount has pending cocaine charges as well.
Anyone with information about the location of Blount should contact Washington police 252-946-1444 or Beaufort County Crime Stoppers 252-974-9400.

Investigator say both victims had non-life threatening injuries to their legs.
Initial reports say one of those shot rode his bicycle to the Holiday Inn where his girlfriend works. The other victim showed up on his own to the emergency room at Beaufort County Medical Center.

Just like the bible tells us, "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone."No, what has happeded is not right but remember they are someone's children and this really hurts. Let's encourage each other and pray the God ,that something positive comes out of this.People spend more time pointing fingers then helping the less fortunate. Its kind of rough in Lil Washington.I lives there for 25 years, and I might add, that I hated every minute of it.I was young and kind of caught up in moment.I thank God everyday for the person that talk some sense into me and told me,Washington is only a place to go back and visit,no reason to stay..Everytime I pick up the phone,to call someone down there,I'm on the phone for hours, because I;m listening to all the drama..Washington is to small for all this crime.I thank the Washington Police Department are doing the best they can.Everybody needs a break, the police and state payers.

Sisters get a grip on your children , i think it's the parents fault , stop blaming it on where they live & making up all kinds of excuses , these boys are raised by single black women( not an excuse either )but you ar more concerned about going to the club& "your man than raising your children , now they are grown up committing all kinds of crimes & you want to blame it on society- No Ma it's you.Mothers take time for your kids when they are small - teach them right from wrong - As the good book says "Train up a child in the way they should go & when they're old they wont depart.Take your kids to church!and keep them there!Stop trying to let the streets raise your kids bcuz you wont take the time to do it yourself.
