Kinston police are investigating two shootings that happened Sunday morning.

The first happened just after midnight on Mitchell Wooten Court. In that shooting two teens have been charged.

Police have charged Shamone Price, who is 17-years-old, with attempted murder, felony conspiracy and possession of a weapon of mass destruction. 16-year-old Larry Jones is charged with attempted murder and felony conspiracy.

Police were told by the 16-year-old victim that he had an argument with a group of people, and one of them fired a single round from a shotgun at him. The victim was not struck.

Both suspects were put in jail on a $2-million secured bond.

The second shooting happened around 3:20 a.m. on East Shine Street.

Commander Rick Harrell tells WITN one of the men was shot in the face while the other was shot in the upper chest.

Trashawn Franklin, 29, of Lenoir County was listed in stable condition at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Tracy Grady, 27, of Kinston was treated and released.

Police say Franklin was traveling west on Shine Street when he was struck by four times by gunfire. The shots came from behind a boarding house located on the north side of the street.

Investigators say they're following up all leads, but have not made any arrests in that shooting.

Kinston is a crap town full of drugs and wanna b thugs. Drug dealers make home deliveries and sell sell sell within blocks of the courthouse. Small wonder they feel comfortable doing so .. cause the judges always lean towards probation instead of jail time. Many are out selling again a few hours after the mostly hard working police lock them up. I have a concealed carry- cost me 100.00 plus a class ( another 200.00) plus I ( the law abiding citizen- mostly) had to be fingerprinted. Isnt fingerprinting for criminals?. Meanwhile every thug in town has a rusty gun of some sort - they dont have to take a class or register. Only when the judges man up and throw the book at these thugs will Kinston ever have a small chance of being a decent place to go after say.. noonish..1: To all the decent citizens: get a high quality handgun and some training 2: keep a good lawyer on retainer 3: do what is required to protect your families

You might consider not telling the people who want these men dead which hospital they were taken to! PCMH has had folks show up with guns. Think about it. You endanger the employees and other patients.
