Halloween celebrations are set for this weekend and for one city in the east, it's one of the busiest for time for police officers.
The streets of downtown Greenville are quiet now, but that will be a different story this weekend.
Since Halloween falls on a Saturday officers expect to see an even larger crowd of party goers.
In response to the increase, the department say 125 Greenville Officers will be on patrol, with another 100 from the Sheriff's Office, East Carolina University and other law enforcement agencies.
Corporal Kip Gaskins says, they can never tell just how many people may show up, but they plan to cover all their bases.
Greenville police say the bars plan to stay open an extra hour, when the clock rolls back for daylight saving time.

EARTH TO DUMB ASSES! You arent supposed to carry you're oh so precious beer around on the streets anywhere you go. LMAO! and it's not supposed to be ONE BIG "party" it's a social event where DUH you guessed it, everyone gets dressed up and drunk BEFORE you go downtown (aka the parties) then have a good time. If you don't know how to do that without prioritizing your oh so precious beer 24/7 then you may have a drinking problem. and yes it is a bunch of immiture college students thats probably why you shouldnt come back bc you're to old to live that lifestyle and you should probably grow up and realize you arent a college student anymore -here is your sign!
Folks, 15-20 years ago, yes, you could go downtown and have a good time, mingle, visit the boutiques, food joints, shop, meet your friends in your favorite pub, walk home, no trouble. Today is different; it just is. Keep this in mind tonight. Don't walk alone, and don't walk in dark parking lots alone.
Downtown Greenville is nothing but the same crap every year....You can't really call it a "party" because you can't have nor drink beer outside. You have to be inside the clubs inorder to drink which will be all packed with no room to hold your beer without getting bumped into aswell as there is no room to dance....so downtown is not really a "party" as you can say. It's more like a gathering which is kinda stupid since all you will be doin is walkin around seein everyone's costumes. Wow, whoopy do lol
