An elderly woman, who was shot in the head last week, is now back at home recouperating.

Mary Bennett relived the terrifying night to WITN's Ken Heineck, just two days after being released from Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

The 94-year-old Craven County woman was shot and her grandson killed in the shootings on Dry Monia Road last Tuesday.

Bennett tells WITN News that the shooting was all over $20, and that she tried to cry for help when her grandson was murdered. But the woman says her attacker would not allow her to leave and ended up shooting her as well.

Bennett was discovered the next day by a neighbor.

Anthony Wright was charged with killing Daniel Winston, but so far he's not been officially charged with the shooting of Bennett. We're told that could change at anytime.

Winston's funeral was Wednesday afternoon, a funeral Bennett was unable to attend because of her physical condition.

My feelings and prayers are with the family. What person in there right mind would do that to an innocent sweet lady? A cowardly punk that's what he is. i am sorry for the loss of the grandson. A senseless killing over $20.00 something that can always be replaced, but you can't replace a humans life. He needs to pay for what he did to the fullest.

My family is so very happy that my aunt is home and this monster is behind bars. I just pray that he stays there I know we all agree that he should be there for the rest of his years. Imagine living to be 94 yrs. old and have someone take that away from you over $20.00. Please keep my aunt and our family in your prayers.

There use to be a honor among black men... no matter who you commit a crime against... NEVER commit a crime against an old person, especially a black old woman. This person has broken that rule and will be dealt with accordingly in prison!
