Lawmen say a deputy sheriff and rescue personnel were assaulted Sunday in Halifax County.
Billy Fenner is charged with assault on government official, assault on emergency personnel, resisting an officer and simple assault.
Deputies say they went to a home on Highway 481 in Enfield for a domestic violence call involving two brothers. They noticed blood coming from the mouth of Don Fenner and called EMS. When emergency workers were treating the victim, his brother tried to assault him. When a deputy tried to intervene, authorities say Billy Fenner started to assault the deputy and EMS workers.
Fenner was treated for his own injuries and placed in jail under a $2,000 bond. He has a November 24th court date.

Halifax County Communication should assure a safe scene for EMS. They can't provide emergency care and look over their shoulder at the same time. EMS personnel remember never, never let the pt. get between you and the door. Also, "never leave your partner behind". I took the class in 1977 and these were the very first instructions that were taught by my instructor Jimmy Wagstaff. He is now the EMS coordinator for Charleston, S C. I am very proud of his accomplishments in Emergency Medicine.
This guy is creepy lookin', ain't he?
Is'nt it a felony to assault an Ems worker?
