Danger At The Door
Lawmen in Halifax County say a man forced his way into a woman's home with a knife.

A woman is nursing cuts on her forearms after lawmen say a man forced his way into her home.
The Halifax County Sheriff's Office says the woman answered a knock on the door Sunday, finding a man who was looking for work. He told the Hobgood woman, he needed money. The woman told the man, she didn't have any work and shut the door.
Lawmen say she answered a second knock on the door, and this time, the same man was armed with a knife and forced his way in the home. Detectives say the man was swinging the knife at her, cutting her forearms, and she was also struck in the back of the head.
The drama continued, lawmen say, as the woman ran down her hallway, throwing chairs to slow the suspect down. Lawmen say the man ran out of the back door of her home.
Lawmen tried to track down the suspect with a search dog but could not find him.
The victim was treated at Our Community Hospital and released.
