An Aurora man has been charged with six counts of indecent liberties with a child.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office received a sexual assault report back in 2008 involving 48 year old Edward Lewis and a minor. The incident allegedly took place at a home on Highway 33 East in Aurora. Another sexual assault report was also filed against Lewis in 2004.

On August 3rd, 2009, Lieutenant Jamie Cahoon presented the investigation to the Beaufort County Grand Jury, six True Bills of Indictment were returned against Lewis. He was arrested on August 28th and brought before Magistrate Holmes.

He's being held on a $100,000 bond.

People you should not be so quick to judge. You do not know how law enforcement works obviously, as the one person below has pointed out. Also it is none of your business. You people need to find better things to do. The only thing these blogs are good for is spreading lies and hate. There is only a few people who know the entire truth, so for everyone who is involved lets hope they tell the whole truth. Im sure no one here would like to be bad mouthed on the internet, so stop doing it to others guilty or not. Matthew 7:2

For those of you who don't know how law enforcement works, let me explain something to you. The reason charges were never filed before was because law enforcement didn't have probable cause to arrest him. When they don't have probable cause the state will then carry the case to a grand jury. A grand jury is six people who sit and get to hear the complaintant tell their story. They don't have to have probable cause all they need is reasonable suspition. And they don't have to talk to the accused or even get to. They can ask anything they want & the complaintant can tell them anything they want. They don't have to have proof to back it up. When law enforcement doesn't have enough probable cause to arrest someone they take it to a grand jury so they can get an inditment. Thats how the system works. So be careful who you judge before you know all the facts...

Good Ol Edward sure doesnt look like a bad guy from the outside? but doesnt every bad person look like a 'nice' individual, thats how they get away with it so easily. He looks like the guy next door, bc he is. but remember the preacher that got caught with putting cameras in his church, in the bathrooms, in the rooms where ppl changed. he looked MORE than a regualr guy.He preached every week to people. Ed can say innocent all he wants, but he has already confessed to what happend in 04. And if he gets away with it, then God help us all bc i have no idea what the world has come to.
