NEW INFO: Car of Missing Men Found, Two Bodies Inside
The Greene County Sheriff's Office tells WITN that the search for James and Antwan Cox has now turned into a homicide investigation.

There's been a break in the case of two missing brothers from Greene County.
Sheriff Lemmie Smith says a burned out vehicle with two bodies inside was found behind an old hog farm operation in Walstonburg around 2:00pm Thursday afternoon.
Smith tells us the bodies inside were burned beyond recognition. It is believed the bodies are those of James and Antwan Cox.
The sheriff tells WITN News that they obtained cell phone records for the men and discovered the last call was made from a tower in Walstonburg.
Smith says authorities then began searching that area. The sheriff says he was driving down Knox School Road and noticed an unlocked gate leading back to the old hog farm.
Smith says the car was badly burned, only its rims and frame were left. The bodies have been send to Pitt County Memorial Hospital for an autopsy. They hope to identify the men through DNA provided by the family.
The Cox family says the men were on their way to pick up some tires in Falkland last Wednesday but never made it back home.
Earlier this week the SBI joined the investigation to find them.
The SBI has now joined in the search for two missing men from Greene County.
James and Antwan Cox haven't been seen since last Wednesday.
The family has been having a prayer group at Leventon Chapel in Stantonsburg since the men disappeared.
James and Antwan Cox were last seen in Greene County Wednesday the 22nd.
The two were on their way to pick up some tires but never made it.
Members of the family are hoping someone comes forward with information about their whereabouts.
Greene County Sheriff Lemmie Smith says his team searched the area where the men were last seen but haven't come up with anything as of yet.

A member of the Cox family says there were two searches on Sunday one in the morning then another in the afternoon.
Wangela Jones, the cousin of the two missing brothers, says the family is hoping other law enforcement will get involved in searching for her loved ones.
At this point the Sheriff's Office in Greene County have not announced any new information in regards to the whereabouts of the two brothers.
James and Antwan Cox were last seen on July 22nd heading to Faulkner, NC to pick up some tires but never made it to their destination.
They were last seen in a 2003 burgundy dodge Durango on Peletier Road near Wilson.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Greene County Sheriff's Office.

Wangela Jones, a relative, tells WITN that the family started their own search for the brothers Saturday morning around 8:30 a.m.
Jones says the last call to come into one of their cell phones was from Walstonburg, NC. The closest cell tower was on Spring Branch Road.
Other area searches include Snow Hill, Maury, and Stantonsburg according to Jones. She says the family plans to resume the search Sunday morning if the men are not found.
They were last seen driving a burgundy 2003 Dodge Durango with chrome wheels.

antwan and james where do i began mother day gone now it just about father day its havent been the same GOD gOT iTS Heart that my justice will be done an will be done well all the thing i am going though will be over after a while. BUT unilt then rest my boys i lve you still.
