There's new information on Tuesday night's shooting that police now say injured three people. That shooting happened an hour after a peace march concluded to protest last weeks drive-by shooting that killed two people.

Greenville police say Christopher Parker told police he was sitting in his parked vehicle in the 1600 block of South Pitt Street when a gold Dodge Status drive by at a high rate of speed and began shooting in his direction. The bullets shattered his vehicle's glass and cut Parker on his ear.

Officers say Tianca Gorham and Tanisha Oates were also injured while sitting in a parked vehicle outside of Ace Super Market on South Pitt Street. They were treated for cuts and released from the hospital.

Police say a preliminary investigation shows the gunman threw a bottle at a group standing in front of the store. The gunman turned the car around and then began firing, hitting the victim's vehicles. Police say there's no reason to believe the victims knew the gunman.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pitt-Greenville Crime Stoppers at 758-7777.

Previous Story

Greenville Police are investigating a drive-by shooting.

It's the third shooting in Greenville in a week, but it was not downtown.

Detectives say the scene of this most recent crime is the corner of Pitt and Brown Streets in Greenville. That's where a man who was sitting in his car missed a bullet to the head by inches around 9:30 Tuesday night. Police say a bullet grazed the man's face. He was taken to the hospital but did not have life-threatening injuries.

Police say another vehicle was shot at but no one was hurt.

Detectives are looking for a gold four-door car. Police say there were two men inside the car that fired the shots.

This drive-by shooting comes one week after a drive-by shooting in downtown Greenville killed two people June 30. James Richardson is charged with the June 30 murders of Landon Blackley and Andrew Kirby.

On Sunday, July 5, police say a group was firing shots at another group around the corner of Fourth and Evans streets. Two teens were arrested.
