Report Of Sexual Assault On ECU Campus

East Carolina University police are investigating reports of a sexual assault on campus Wednesday. An alert posted by ECU police says the attacker might have been armed with a knife.
ECU spokesman John Durham would only say there are reports that a female was sexually assaulted. He would not say where the assault took place or it the victim was a student of not.
But the ECU Police Twitter page says a female student was assaulted in the ladies restroom on the first floor of the Austin Building at 1:50 p.m.. The alert says the person was possibly armed with a knife.
When contacted this afternoon, university police referred us back to the university spokesman for information on the reported attack.
Durham said the university only sent out a campus alert that the Austin Computer Lab would be shut down from 4:00 p.m. Wednesday to 8:00 a.m. Thursday.
Two women students coming out of Austin were alarmed Thursday afternoon to learn of the attack from a WITN reporter.
This is the third report of a sexual assault on campus this year.

I have two girls in college and one who recently graduated. Rapes occur on every campus, but, we have to find a way to protect ALL of our kids, as well as all women, in our community. Rape is the most hurtful and emotionally destroying crime that can ever be placed upon a human being. I hope that we can pull together and educate, as well as arm the authorities with the necessary tools (legal and monetary)to deal with this ever increasing problem.

The story is disgusting, 1 in the afternoon on a busy university campus. I, for one, HATE to go shopping now b/c clothing for women has become so skimpy/skanky that I wouldn't even wear it to a halloween party dressed as a hooker. For it being the year 2009, women have REGRESSED in their self respect and values and this is another example of it. Sex is thrown in the faces of men and used by women entirely too often. I am not religious, but I do have morals. NO, I don't think "juicy" should be written across someone's bossom/rear end if they don't want "that kind" of attention. The funniest part about the whole thing is that the PARENTS of these college "kids" are paying for this clothing, or lack there of. All the more reason to dress as a tom boy! IN NO WAY AM I PLACING ANY, and I mean ANY blame on the victim. What I am saying is that if we don't start to DEMAND respect from men, then they will continue to behave this way. Married and will never have children in this day and age!
