Police in Virginia have arrested John Mulvey, former Washington County Economic Development Director for attempted aggravated sexual battery on a juvenile under the age of 13.
The arrest happened on Thursday in Amherst Virginia police say without incident. Mulvey has been on unpaid leave on his current job since April 15th.
The allegations from the girls family were reported to police in late March.
Mulvey is being held on a $10,000 dollar bond. He started his current job in Virginia this past December.

This man has not worked in or for Washington County since July 2007! What makes you think he quit? Ever think there was a possibility otherwise? There was! If you think its not too serious maybe you should read about it in the article on www.neweraprogress.com. From my expereience of having known this character he needs to be locked up for good!

What can a grown man possibly find attractive about a child? This world is full of sick people and something like that can't be "rehabilitated". Do the taxpayers a favor put this guy out of his misery.

Why is it that the headline reads EX-WASHINGTON COUNTY official??? From reading this he has not worked in Washington COunty since before December. I would love to read some positive news and happenings in Washington. There are lots of great things happening in this small community, but only the bad things make the headlines.
