NEW INFO: Murder Suspects In Martin County Shooting
Two men are now facing murder charges in a May shooting that left one man dead and another injured in Martin County. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to four.

Two men are now facing murder charges in a May shootout that left one man dead and injured another in the Martin County town of Oak City.

Frederick Taft is now locked up and charged with murder and attempted murder. Fernandez Taft, who faces the same charges, is still on the loose. Both are from Oak City.

Two other people were arrested in June on firearms charges in connection with this case.

Travonn Barnes died after the shooting on Chestnut Street. Gregory Collier was injured

Two teenagers are arrested in connection to a Martin County shooting that left another teenager dead back in May.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office says 18 year old Patrick Staton of Oak City and 17 year old Jarrell Lovett have both been charged with discharging a barreled weapon into an occupied dwelling.

The shooting happened back on May 23rd around 10pm. When officers arrived to the area of Chestnut Street in Oak City they found two shooting victims. One of those victims, 18 year old Trevonn Barnes, later died at the hospital. The other remains hospitalized.

Authorities say the homicide investigation is on-going, officials ask anyone with information on the incident call the Sheriff’s Office at (252) 789-4500 or Martin County Crime Stoppers at (252) 792-8800.

Mr. Anonymous, I know you are not trying to cut on nobody becuase a lot of people on here are still talking like they are on some plantation so you didnt make no point. I spelled the word because wrong, but you got what,I was saying right.

Tubby, here in Martin County we put the "a" before the "u" in because. Is that part of the problem?
