One week ago a Greenville man was fatally shot while walking down the street in his hometown. His murder marked the second shooting in Martin County within seven days.
The investigation into the murder of 21 year old Curtis Sheppard in Robersonville continues with no arrests in the case. We're told by officers that they're following leads and hope to resolve this case as soon as possible.
Martin County sheriff's detectives are also hoping to arrest the suspect in the murder and attempted murder of two teens on May 23rd. Authorities tells us it was a gang related incident. Sheriff Dan Gibbs says, "We're still investigating it at this time and we're running down leads and people are, I think, afraid to talk to our investigators at this time."

Neo the more I read from you the more amazed I am at how you can take a fact or statement and completly not understand it, twist it all around and end up with anything but the truth! Guess it comes from years of practice. I in no way said or suggested anything about alcoholics in MC..I can understand how you missed the point of people not being able to recognize the real problem so how in the heck can we expect them to be a part of the solution. I've come to believe you really don't want a solution. I think you want MC to fail! That's why you display a disagreeing almost combative attitude and dialogue when you here negative things from Pitt and Beaufort Co..Almost like "hey noway you're as bad as we are"! Since you seem to be the self-appointed spokesperson for all hard working, tax paying MC citizens, maybe you should use your influence more positively...wonder why all the "good folks" leaving MC?, yo think they'd choose higher crime over ignorance? Makes you think, hopefully!!

Concerned ex-MC guy, the hard working, tax paying citizens have written these areas off. Millions of dollars have been dumped into the neighborhoods that you pout for through hundreds of government programs. All that accomplished was encouraging them to have more children for the taxpayers to support. It's hopeless, some people are beyond help. Under the current rules, we can only continue to feed, cloth, house, provide entertainment, healthcare, transportation and every other necessity and nicety of life. Thank you for recognizing that there are alot of alcoholics as well as drug addicts in these neighborhoods. You may want to get over to Greenville. Apparently there are a couple of shooter thugs over there that may need to cry on your shoulder and play the victim of society role on you.

Neo- I fully expected you wouldn't recognize hatred or hateful insensitive attitude to begin with. Since you like cute analogies, must alcohohlics won't admit to a drinking problem either! Your point about demographics, low poverty, low ambition, uneducatable workforce might be valid, but what are the hard working, tax paying law abiding citizens doing to correct the PROBLEM? History suggest and my Psyc 101 prof stated, reference problem solving-you're either part of the solution or part of the problem! I'm pretty sure where you fall. Hopefully the other tax paying law abiding citizens will soon come to their senses and try something positive for a change! As for uneducatable workforce-guess you mean show them something factual & true and they retain it right? OK, I am not nor have I ever been ex-MC employee!!?? Now repeat 3 times.."Roberson st, always hopeless" I doubt that. Most statements following "always" "everyone" "never" "all" etc usually lack fact to support.
