A tip from a sheriff's department in the western part of the state led to the arrest of an eastern Carolina man accused of growing marijuana.
Gerald Heath, 61 years-old of Chocowinity, Beaufort County, was arrested and charged with manufacturing pot out of his home with the intent to sell and deliver.
Beaufort County investigators say they searched the home and found marijuana growing paraphernalia inside.
Heath's wife, Nita Malinda Heath, is also wanted in connection with the operation. A warrant for her arrest has been issued.

If you knew that they were using their own children to make a buck by letting them do almost all the work and risk getting caught during a sale you might see why they need to be corrected. They made enought pot money for a good lawyer and get out of it. would it change any opinions? Its illegal, its not dangerous physically but it opens lives up to the govt., finding a way into your life and things are never again the same. Maybe that child of theirs has an infant and these people never once explained the severity of it all to this new parent. I think it should be legal, but at this point and time its not. They as parents proved to be poor character models for the so called drug addicts. So Cindy get your story straight, a good man doesn't profit on someone else's disease. Great man, and lovely mother to match.

Why are we spending money arresting, prosecuting, and then jailing a guy who was growing a freakin' plant? Good Lord, pot is such a benign drug..no one ever committed a crime while high on pot - unless you count eating all of your roommate's Cheetos a crime.
