Wilmington, NC - Police say a Camp Lejeune Marine threatened to blow up a plane Tuesday night at the Wilmington International Airport.

Airport police say he also threatened to kill the president, kill police and their families.

Nicholas Hanke is in the New Hanover County jail, facing state and federal charges.

Gary Broughton, operations director at the airport, says Hanke was on a US Airways flight to Charlotte when he got on the plane and yelled "you people are stupid, there is a bomb on this plane and it's going to blow up."

Broughton tells WITN News that when the flight attendants approached Hanke, he assaulted the crew and then ran off the plane into the terminal.

Airport police chased the Marine, and he assaulted them as well. Broughton says when Transportation Security Administration officers approached Hanke he threatened to kill the president.

All of the plane's baggage was unloaded and searched for explosives, and each passenger was also re-screened.

Hanke is expected to be interviewed by the FBI and Secret Service who may also file charges.

Less than two weeks ago President Barack Obama visited Camp Lejeune to announce a troop withdrawal from Iraq.

This man is not reflective of our honorable troops. He needs help. I guess this is one person on record that doesn't care for Obama.

To Anonymous on Mar 13, 2009 at 02:45 PM: Why is my comment insulting? I called him neither a black man nor a white man. I said that, if you listen to the people involved in his raising, he was TREATED as a black man. And, you mean to tell me that when the question of race comes up on an application or some other type of form she answers, myself? You are right however, she is neither black nor white, she is both black and white. This is something she, as well as all people, should be proud of. It is her heritage. I also meant that most of the people that do not like President Obama do so due to his race which they see as black but keep saying that he is more white than black. Doing this helps them, although not happy with the fact of a Black president, cope somehow. But if I have insulted you in any fasion, I do appoligize. It was not my intention to do this.
