A suspect is charged with statutory rape of a 13, 14 or 15 year old.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office charged 23 year-old Randy Lee Lindsey of Chocowinity with that offense. The charge comes after the sheriff's office received a report last month of a sex offense involving a juvenile.
Lindsey was arrested Saturday.

I'm going to play devils advocate. Granted he is 23 but at 13, 14 or 15 she is old enough to say no. If she had said no and it still happened it would not be statutory rape it would be rape. Mom and Dad probably found out and pushed the issue. Now at 23, he knew it was wrong and what the consequences were. But IF this female gave her consent, is it grounds for this following him, because the secret got out? haunting him for the rest of his life? Convicted sex offender? I speak from experience here. I have a family member that at 13, SHE made the decision to consent to sex with an older male. My cousin (13 yr olds mother) went to the boy (17) and his parents, talked with them and settled this outside of a courtroom and didnt ruin his life for a decision they (children) made, despite knowing it was wrong. ~ Think folks! Juanita...you might want to try to leave comments like that on the correct page.... I do agree that some females around here dress like trash and then wonder why they get harrassed. Put some clothes on and cover your BEHIND and maybe it wouldn't be so bad. But no one deserves rape and I'm not really sure HOW Afghanistan fits into this story. wow.
