A Christmas Eve argument ends with gunfire leaving one person injured and another under arrest.

The Halifax County Sheriff's Office says a fight broke out between the victim and John Richard Locke Senior on Ringwood Road in Enfield. When deputies arrived they say they found the victim, who had been grazed by a bullet, walking on Ringwood Road.

Investigators say the victim and Locke Senior got into an argument because Locke Senior wanted the victim to leave. That's when they say Locke Senior got a rifle and aimed it at the victim. The victim deflected the rifle and a shot was fired grazing the individual between his shoulder and neck.

Locke Senior is charged with Attempted Murder. The victim was treated and released.
