UPDATES: Two Wilson County Deputies Wreck After Chase

A chase involving two sheriff's deputies in the east ends with one of the deputy's losing control and crashing into the ditch.

The Highway Patrol Trooper out of Wilson county, responded to 301 South, near Lucama just after 9 this morning.

Wilson county Spokeswoman, Sgt. Wanda Samuel says, Wilson Police responded to a Breaking And Entering call and located a suspect vehicle on Raleigh Road and Airport Blvd and tried to pull it over. The car sped off.

Once out of the city limits, deputies took over the pursuit. The suspects
vehicle came across a work zone and switched lanes into construction causing deputy James Howard IV, to lose control and crash into a ditch. He was not injured. The other deputy crashed into a orange cone.

Samuel says once at the Johnston and Wilson County lines, deputies there deployed stop sticks to blow out the tires. The two men inside the car, Wayne Moore and his passenger, Jerome Moore, jumped out and ran.

Deputies say after a brief foot chase the men were taken into custody.

Wayne Moore is charged with Driving While License Revoked, Fleeing To Allude Arrest, Injury To Personal Property, Resisting An Officer, Speeding, and Failure To Stop At A Red Light. He's also facing Breaking And Entering charges in Nash County.

Jerome Moore faces Resisting Arrest in this case, but in Nash county Breaking And Entering and Larceny After Breaking And Entering.

Two deputy sheriff cruisers in the East crashed after a chase this morning.

The Highway Patrol tells us that it ended on Highway 301 South in Kenly.

Information is limit, but we're told that two Wilson County deputies crashed after the chase. We're told one deputy had minor injuries and the person who was being chased is in custody.

The vehicle being chased got a flat tire after stop sticks were placed on the highway. There's no indication at this time of why deputies were chasing the vehicle.
