A teenager is behind bars after a home invasion in which shots were fired in Wayne County, and this isn't the only crime lawmen believe he committed.
It happened August 28 at a home in the Lakewood subdivision in the Dudley area.
Jeffrey Leach Jr., age 16 of Goldsboro, is charged with breaking and entering as well as assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Authorities say the owner was in the home when Leach broke in, and that the homeowner was shot at by the suspect. The homeowner was not hurt.
An investigation followed and Leach was identified as a suspect.
Lawmen say Leach was already in the Wayne County Detention Center under similar charges and was a person of interest in other break-ins in the Dudley area. Authorities say other suspects could be charged.
