SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE (AP) - State consumer protection officials are visiting the Wayne County base to offer tips to service members and their families on how to avoid being cheated by scam artists.
Members of Attorney General Roy Cooper's consumer protection division are scheduled to visit Seymour Johnson Air Force Base on Thursday.
Officials say military members and their spouses are targets for scams and bad business practices, especially during deployment. Specialists from Cooper's office will discuss identity theft and automobiles, topics which generate many questions and complaints.
The event bring held at all of the state's military installations.
