Deputies say gunfire erupted in an armed robbery of a farm worker late last week.
Wayne County deputies have charged Casey Maddox of Dudley with robbery with a dangerous weapon and second degree kidnapping.
Fernando Salinas told deputies he was working on a turkey farm on Friday when a man with a handgun told him to give him his money or he would be killed. Salinas tried to give the gunman the money in his pocket, but the robber said he knew there was money in his truck.
Deputies say when the two got to the truck the gunman fired a round at Salinas' feet. About that time another employee was seen coming and the gunman got in his van and drove off without getting any cash.
Maddox was later identified and arrested. The 21-year-old is jailed on a $185,000 secured bond.
