Police say a McDonalds manager was pistol whipped after two robbers climbed through one of the drive through windows to get into the restaurant.

Goldsboro police say it happened around 1:20 a.m. Monday at the McDonalds on U.S. 70 West.

Police say a third person stayed outside as a lookout.

Once inside, the two armed men demanded money and forced a manager and another employee to the office. After assaulting the manager, the two made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A nearby Wayne County deputy noticed a suspicious vehicle and stopped it about a quarter of a mile from the restaurant. One of those inside was positively identified as being involved in the robbery, while a search of the vehicle netted a handgun and some of the stolen loot.

William Warren, Jr. was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of first degree kidnapping, possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was jailed on a $255,000 secured bond.

Police have warrants out for a second man. Joseph Simms of Goldsboro should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Simms, or the name of the third person involved in the robbery, should call Goldsboro police at 919-705-6572 or Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255.
