A relative of a two-month old baby is charged with felony child abuse after the baby suffered life threatening injuries.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says 22-year-old James Montgomery of Dudley, whose relation to the child they haven't specified, is charged, after the baby was taken to Duplin General hospital in July with injuries consistent with shaken baby.
The baby had multiple rib fractures, extensive intracranial injury, subdural hematoma, broken arm, broken leg and skull fracture.
The baby was transferred to Vidant in Greenville and has since been released and placed in foster care and is doing well.
Bond for Montgomery was set at $211,000.
