A local beauty queen made it to the top 15 in the Miss America pageant Saturday night.

Miss North Carolina Hailey Best of Goldsboro didn't take the crown, but did well in Las Vegas. Her service platform is the Live On Foundation which enables children in battered women's and homeless shelters, group homes and children's homes to participate in academic, athletic, and artistic programs.

Best is a high school graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and also attended Eastern Wayne High School.

Miss Wisconsin won last night's pageant.

So was she in Hustler or Penthouse before this? Either way the playboy mansion is her destination. She'll look good in bunny ears.

Being that she has a college degree, I highly doubt that. Maybe you are jsut jealous because your kids didn't accomplish as much as this fine young woman did.

She's quite pretty, and I am glad to see our state well-represented in the Miss America Pageant. Most of those young ladies don't get the recognition for their talent and hometown community contributions. Yes, they are attractive, but they also work hard, have grueling travel schedules, meet rules and timelines, and give away much of their private lives to the public. She did well in all these categories, as far as this North Carolinian is concerned.

Or..... they are just grown up girls from 'toddlers and tiaras'. Now that's scary.

If she were your daughter/grand-daughter/sister/friend, you would post a nicer comment, I bet. Don't steal her thunder; just be glad we had nice representation, as a state.
