The Newly crowned Miss North Carolina has ties to the east.
Goldsboro native and University of North Carolina Wilmington senior Beth Stovall won the pageant Saturday night in Raleigh and will head on to the Miss America pageant in September.
Stovall was Miss Greater Sampson County where she won both the preliminary talent and lifestyle and fitness awards.
Stovall says her platform will be to get children inspired and interested in art.
Stovall has her sights set on becoming the first Miss America from North Carolina since 1962.
