The search is on for a man police say used a hammer to beat a man unconscious.
Goldsboro Police are looking for 39-year-old Jerry Parks.
Police say Parks was fighting with 36-year-old Leodis Hamlin Junior when Parks walked away from the fight, but came back with a hammer.
Detectives say Parks hit Hamlin once in the face and once in the forehead knocking him unconscious. Police say the violent assault continued with Parks stomping on
Hamlin's head several times before running away.
The attack happened on North John Street in Goldsboro around 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
Hamlin's injuries were severe enough that he was flown to Vidant Medical Center.
Parks is on the run and wanted for attempted murder.
