The ramp from US-70 East to the US-70 East Bypass in Goldsboro was closed down nearly 7 hours Thursday morning due to an overturned tanker truck.
According to Maj. Michael West of the Goldsboro Police, a Waccamaw Transport Inc. truck carrying gasoline took the ramp too quickly at 3:20 a.m.
Seymour Johnson Air Force Base was called in to clean up the site. The driver of the truck had minor injuries. Almost seven hours later, the tanker was uprighted and the sharply curved ramp was open to traffic.
No one was evacuated due to the accident.
