A former middle school principal in Eastern Carolina has been found not guilty of the sexual exploitation charges he faced.
Ronald Barringer resigned from his post as Springfield Middle School principal in Wilson County in March. Barringer resigned after lawmen charged him with a felony county of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
After a trial this week a jury found the man not guilty of all charges.
The Wilson County Schools public information officer, Bob Kendall, said at the time of Barringer's arrest, that the charges are "based on private conduct alleged to have occurred entirely outside of the school system."
