An observant citizen is to thank for putting a father and his two children in jail for allegedly trying to steal power lines.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office received a call Friday about three people near Northeast Elementary School in Pikeville. 43-year-old George Daniels, his 18-year-old son George and his daughter, 19-year-old Vivian Daniels, all of Wilson, were arrested by deputies and charged with damaging electrical wires and fixtures of electrical power service, larceny and possession of stolen goods.
Authorities say the tipster followed the three until authorities could arrive. The cost of the damage to the wires is estimated at $500 and it was returned to the electric company.
The Daniels family went to jail and are all under at $5,000 dollar bond.
