Fire investigators say two fires on the same road today are arsons, but they do not believe they were set by the same people.
The first was spotted around 12:30 a.m. at a mobile home on Durham Lake Road, outside of Goldsboro. Mar-Mac Fire Chief Bill Harrell tells WITN News that someone poured an accelerant in the home and started the fire. The fire was extinguished, but flared up again because of all the accelerant used.
Around 7:00 a.m. another vacant home was set on fire about a mile away. Harrell says accelerant was also used on that fire, but not as much.
The investigation into both fires has been turned over to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
