It took a two-county chase and spike strips to stop one man on the run from deputies.
On Wednesday, deputies pulled over 43-year-old Leon Willoughby of Goldsboro. While talking to an investigator, deputies said Willoughby dropped his car in drive and sped off. Deputies chased the man from Wayne County into Johnston County, where a deputy from that area deployed spike strips. Willoughby hit the strips, and deputies were able to arrest him.
Investigators said the car he was driving was stolen, and had drug paraphernalia in it.
Willoughby has been charged for the chase, the drugs, and the stolen vehicle. His secured bond was set at $10,000.
