NEW INFO: Propane Gas Source Of Wilson County Explosion

Wilson County authorities say the source of an explosion that injured a man and heavily damaged a home Tuesday night was propane gas.

Homeowner Brad Watson remains in the Burn Center in Chapel Hill after being injured in the explosion. Watson was inside his garage on La Finca Road in Elm City around eight Tuesday night when the explosion occurred.

Deputies say they have not been able to determine how the propane was ignited. They say a search of the home didn't locate any other explosive devices, or parts of other devices.

The county inspections department has condemned the home, which has now been turned back over to the man's family.

He is in good hands in the Chapel Hill Burn Center. My daughter was there after being burned about 5 years ago. Wonderful, caring doctors and nursed.
