Wilson Woman Accused Of Staging Robbery For Insurance Fraud

A woman is accused of staging a robbery to defraud an insurance company.

The State Department of Insurance says Leslie Nowell of Wilson is charged with two counts of insurance fraud and obtaining money by false pretense.

Authorities say Nowell told Wilson Police that she had been robbed of jewelry and cash while working at her business, Divine Decor & Gift.

Investigators say Nowell received two checks totaling $6,693 from Nationwide Insurance Company for the loss.

Bond for Nowell was set at $1,000.

Guilty? Who made you judge & jury? Months in advace? The only thing she did for months was NOT CASH the insurance checks. You need to get your facts straight before slandering people's names and not to mention deflamation of character! Hey you aren't a member of the kiss P.N.S.P.'s club are you by any chance? Get your facts STRAIGHT before you go talking about things you have NO CLUE about! HOw do you know she admitted anything to anyone? How do you know she did this on her own and planned it months in advance?? What are you a member of the "psychic network"? Get a life, cause you definitely have WAY too much free time on your hands. :)

Jessica Webb, just wondering where you are getting your information from? How do you know that she admitted anything and for that matter how do you even know diddly about this whole situation??? You must be one of the "followers". Hey it's all good, you who live in glass houses really shouldn't be throwing stones!!!!

Dear "OR", sometimes people are influenced by the company they keep who do have 171 previous criminal charges. NO excuses, but really, are you that easily influenced???? I am proud of my daughter LESLIE PARKER NOWELL for coming forward immediately when she was questioned without any information other than a "tip" by someone who knew the whole scam and benefited from it. She has admitted her part and she will take the punishment she receives and I promise you so will EVERYONE else that had anything to do with this. Don't be so quick to make assumptions. Why don't you put your free time to good use and explore how a person with 171 criminal charges including 5 DUI's is still driving the streets of the same city you and your family ride down daily???

Jessica, don't know you and obviously you don't know Leslie. But I would guess that you know PJ and his "family". God bless you and the "truth" will prevail. Judge not least you be judged. You will see "greed" soon for a drunk wrecking a car and then reporting it stolen. Get your FACTS before you react. Just some friendly advice :)

For the record...Leslie Nowell adimitted everything to the authorities. She not only did this on her own but it was drivin by pure greed. She planned it months in advance. Sadly now she is pointing fingers! GUILTY!

Sometimes people with no previous criminal record can do questionable things as well....that is no indication that she is innocent.

Poor girl. Perfect example of be careful of the company you keep. Check out her husbands criminal record at NCDOC, Peter James Nowell. I smell a rat! She has no previous criminal record. Sometimes things aren't always what they seem to be!!

It could be a possibility that someone in her family is losing their job cause of the plant closing and she is trying to find a way to not struggle. The worse the economy, the worse the crime rate gets.

she probably couldn't afford to pay her utility bill. those utility bills are causing business owners and home owners to go bankrupt.
