Two Southern Wayne Students Killed In Car Crash

Two students from the same high school were killed Sunday night in Wayne County after a traffic accident.

Troopers say Lisa Myers of Dobbersville Road crossed the center line and struck a pickup truck head on. The Highway Patrol says the crash ripped open the vehicle. A passenger in Myers' car, Tyler Brewer was thrown from the vehicle and also died.

The crash happened on Stevens Mill Road, not far from the intersection with Mill Creek Road.

Both victims were students at Southern Wayne High School. The 17-year-old Myers was an 11th grader, while Brewer was a freshman.

A Wayne County school spokesman says they have additional support staff at the school Monday to help students cope with the loss.

State troopers say neither speed nor alcohol were a factor in the accident.

She was the last person you would think would be gone so soon. I Love You LisaMarie. An Tyler, I'm gonna miss all the football games we had together man. R.I.P Lisa & Tyler

I am a student of SWHS and I just wanted to mention that losing Lisa and Tyler was truly upsetting to several of us here. We can only hope that they both Rest In Peace and that they will never be forgotten.

tyler was in my first period class he was very quiet at times but i knew he talked a lot. I saw lisa around school when my friends and I heard about this we all felt as if we had lost apart of our family. We wil never know the feeling to have lost a child, but I know that we care and understand now why they tell us to treasure life.

my heart goes out to the families and friends of lisa and tyler. My 15 y/o daughter Courtney was killed in a motor vehicle accident on July 20,2005.there are no words for your pain and loss.the family and friends are in my thoughts and the mothers your life will never be the same and people you thought were your friends will disappear.however the friends that your daughter and son made they will remain true.I think the teenage friends of my daughter were a big comfort for me. wrap yourself in the love and comfort of your son and daughters friends for they are real and will not leave you like the adults.WE COULD LEARN ALOT FROM TEENAGERS WHEN IT COMES TO FRIENDSHIP AND HOW MUCH A FRIEND REALLY MEANS TO YOU.

there are only good memories of Tyler! He was a wonderful Uncle to my Daughter! She couldn't ask for anything that he wasn't willing to give to her his time on this earth was not enough. I can't believe he won't be spending another night with us or sitting at grandma's table at Christmas! We love you Tyler! We love you so much! I never knew Lisa But my prayers are with her friends and family as they are with Tylers!
