AUTOPSY: Girl Shot Boyfriend, Then Herself In Cemetery

Authorities say a 16-year-old girl shot her boyfriend, and then turned the gun on herself in a Mount Olive cemetery.

In an autopsy obtained by WITN News, the Medical Examiner's Office says Martavia Royster was shot in the chest. It says, based on positive gunshot residue found on the girl, her death points to a suicide.

An earlier autopsy shows the girl's boyfriend, Tiqko King, was shot three times in the chest.

The couple was found dead in Carver Memorial Park on September 13th.

A child is not capable of making reasonable decisions or processing through difficult emotions. This tragedy is the result of children being allowed to make adult decisions. It is very unfortunate.

Nobody should make assumptions of their relationship. But I don't know any time where it is logical to take someone's life and then my own. That's not love. That's selfishness. And I don't think it's because we take God out of schools. I love God and try to live like Jesus. But many church-goers are selfish and judgmental. What was the 16 year old girl doing with a gun anyway?

gee you people get on your high horse over age. Girls have been marrying forever at young age. Read your bible those that have one. girls were married off as soon as they could bear children sometimes sooner. then you have the rich older guys that have women 20 or 30 years younger. You people get over it. as for a gun, wow most people hunt so access to a gun is easy.

I think 16 is the age of legal consent in NC but not sure. I agree - 29 yr old should NOT even think about being with a 16 yr old and sounds like there's a lot more to this story than what is here. Sadly, there are two young people dead, no matter the reasons. Both families suffer regardless of anything else.

Great; another sensational murder/suicide love tangle. Where did a 16 yr. old acquire the gun/ammo? Did she leave any notes/MySpace/Facebook info? Hope this won't prompt other young people to decide their own fate, which is contrary to the Bible's teachings.

Considering you can be convicted of statutory rape even if sexual contact has not occured.. yeah, it's a bad idea - and that does NOT have to be at the accusation of said minor. Parents, and even law officials can file the charge. Tragic that this happened, either way. Anon 11:47am: Maybe it's my age that sways my view, because when I was 16 and now in my 40s, @ neither age did I ever look at a man's finances as a standard. I've dated extremely wealthy, and I've also been with men who had next to nothing. All I care about is chemistry & being in love. All the money & possessions in the world aren't worth replacing that. In fact, they weigh you down. It's a shame if that ideal has changed. Re looking older.. I did. I was never carded when I should've been at ages 17-20. NOW they do. *sigh* lol BUT... at 16, I doubt very much this 29 yr old didn't have a suspicion even if she did lie about her age.
