The first two happened in Wayne County where the robber first walked to a drink display, went to pay for the drink and pulled a knife on the clerk. Deputies say the Pantry Convenience Store on Highway 117 South was robbed at 1:53 a.m. Then about two hours later the Pantry on Highway 70 West was held up.
Around 6:30 a.m. Goldsboro police say the Kangaroo on North William Street was also robbed by a man armed with a knife. Police say the robber was seen leaving in a burgundy passenger car.
The robber was wearing a baseball cap, white t-shirt and gray shorts. He's a black man, 40 to 50 years old, between 5'6" and 6' tall. No one was injured in the three hold-ups.
Police have released surveillance video of the robber and pictures in hopes that someone will identify him.
