Wilson County State Trooper Charged With DWI

A Highway Patrol trooper who works in Wilson County is off the job after his arrest Friday for drunk driving.

Police charged Trooper John Fogg with DWI Friday after his personal vehicle was involved in a crash with another vehicle on the Durham Freeway.

Police say the 40-year-old Fogg had a blood-alcohol content of .17, more than twice the legal limit.

Fogg was off-duty when the accident happened.

The Highway Patrol says Fogg began with the patrol in August 2007.

An internal investigation into the arrest is underway and Fogg has been relieved of his duties pending the outcome of that investigation.

I believe that this trooper made a mistake. I hope to see him bounce back. To the trooper, "(we) learn lessons-to help someone else." I myself have been in your shoes. Godspeed friend.

I am going to Pray for this former Trooper and his family, for he isn't the first and won't be the last. I hope he finds the strength to get through this unfortunate situation in his life, for no one is perfect. Be strong John, for we all make mistakes, I know you will Man up and face the consequences. THERE IS ALWAYS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL.

Try not to let this mistake make you look down on all law enforcement. We are people and most everyone makes mistakes. The only reason this is such a big deal is because of how high people in general hold the highway patrol in their eye.The highway patrol was made of greatness many years ago and of all the troopers across the state 1 or 2 are going to make a mistake.1 or 2 of 1500 to 2000 troopers,i dont think that is that bad.Almost every trooper is a great person at heart.

It saddens me that humans are judges of individual behavior. "We have all sinned and come short!" But we forget! Jesus healed the woman whom he knew was sleeping with men she should not have. If he can forgive us, what makes it so hard for humans to do. No one knows what was going on. We are so perfect! Aren't We!!!!

oh, he did'nt mean to do it. . .just lightly tap his hand with a ruler and put a breath a lizer in his patrol car. That's what will happen anyway. I HATE drunk drivers and it one if hit my family members they would'nt have to worry about of sorry excuse for a court system. . .

You people kill me. You want to sit there and bad mouth cops for looking out for each other when every single one of you probably do the same thing in one form or another with your co-workers. Everyone is so quick to jump all over any news story involving law enforcement and start bad mouthing the police but as soon as your butt is in a sling who is the first one you call? Don't forget that the same people you all constantly condemn put their lives on the line for YOU everyday!
