You might want to call it a cool heist, with police saying they caught the burglar red-handed.
Goldsboro police have charged a teenage with stealing large amounts of various types of ice cream.
Police on patrol early Tuesday morning noticed Jodeci Rivers walking down North George Street with an extremely large black bag on his back.
They soon discovered that someone had just broken into three ice cream trucks at the Pet Milk and Ice Cream Company, which was about two miles away.
The 16-year-old is charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after B&E, possession of stolen goods and possession of burglary tools. He's in the Wayne County jail on a cool $17,500 bond.
The ice cream company told police the melting ice cream could not be saved.
