Citizen Complaints Lead To Drug Arrests

Police say it was neighbors who helped bust two reported drug dealers in their neighborhood.

Christopher Armwood and Nicholas Garner of Mount Olive were arrested after officers found two-and-a-half ounces of marijuana and over $1,000 in cash, digital scales, pharmaceutical pills, and two night vision wireless cameras among at a home police searched.

Armwood is in the Wayne County jail on a $100,000 bond. Garner has a $10,000 dollar bond.

Police say citizen complaints are what led them to the suspects.

Alpha: Didn't know 'bout Railroad St.LOL. Perhaps an eager WITN reporter would like to do some undercover reporting? Although I've never seen any local reporting of this kind in this area. Big city reporters would love this kind of story. Police turning their heads. Perhaps the State Police might come in a see the dealing going on? There is still alot of muscle in town as far as changes (not making any) or maybe the County. Maybe President Obama and Mexican President Calderon have some suggestions for Belhaven. LOL.

Still Squeeking Wheel Location: Belhaven.... LOL .. Don't you just love it when you have to stop so that they can finish their drug deal... and the dealer pulls his head out the car and looks up at you like your stopping HIS business? .. Oh, don't forget Railroad street also... I've told the police ...and one officer said, "I know". LOL

Nice. How the heck do you get Belhaven police to do anything about the open air drug dealing on Pantego Street in front of the basketball court? Where are the police, anyway? I see them on the "right" side of town but never where the drugs are being sold... open sight, every day and night. Just pull up to the basketball court (either side) and they (the dealers) walk up to your car window. I was on my way to grocery store and had to stop because the buyer didn't even pull to the side of the road on Wed. Perhaps some nice church in town will build them some shelter with a drive thru window this winter. I'm sure it's cold out there on the side of the street.

Kudos to the citizens that complained. Far too many people in communities today know what is going on and dont report it because its not affecting them or they feel like its not there problem. If more people stood up and reported what they saw many communities would be so much safer.
