A resident of the O'Berry Neuro-Medical Center in Goldsboro has died, and four employees are now on investigative leave.

The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services says autopsy results are expected in about 90 days.

State officials say sbuse is not suspected, However, confidentiality laws prevent the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services to release details of the incident. Officials say it is standard procedure to put employees on leave.

Cherry Hospital’s Police Department and the Medicaid Investigations Unit of the state Attorney General’s Office are investigating.

ANYONE that has never worked in this type of place needs to not pass judgement. The whole situation is that now these clients have so many rights, that you have to physically get on the floor and wrestle with some of them.Sometimes it takes 5 or 6 staff to hold one down, one that kicks, hits, scratches , bites, projectile vomits, digs Feces out or thier Rectum and smears it on themselves and you.Ptients that carry Hepatitus, and sometimes AIDS.The state would rather that all 5 or 6 staff were put out of work with injuries, than to God forbid, use a restraint chair or a straight jacket, even though there would be LESS chance of the patient getting hurt.In some ares, this goes on many times in a single day. Some clients will poke thier hand or head through a glass window. Or just trip and fall, not knowing to instinctively put thier hands out to block thier fall. Then when the get a busted open area, sometimes staff are blamed if there are no witnesses.Put yourself in this situation.

To Cactus: What has to be stopped? Deaths? Deaths happen, people die. The article shows that there is no abuse suspected. It is procedure when a death occurs that the people on duty are put on leave with pay until all can be looked at.Don't convict these people before the facts are out.
