UPDATED: Murder Suspect Returned To N.C. From Florida

A man suspected of a murder in Goldsboro has been returned to Eastern Carolina from Florida.

Goldsboro Police say Anthony Jackson arrived at the Wayne County Jail at 2 p.m. Monday.

Jackson was one of two men wanted in the February 24 shooting death of Barbara Bandy. Bandy was shot Tuesday evening while moving her car in front of her house and died two days later.

Authorities are still looking for John Mumford, the second suspect charged in the woman's murder.



A murder suspect from Eastern Carolina has been caught in Miami.

Goldsboro police say Anthony Jackson was arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement at around 1:00 p.m. Monday.

Jackson was one of two men wanted in last week's shooting death of Barbara Bandy. Bandy was shot Tuesday evening while moving her car in front of her house and died two days later.

Authorities are still looking for John Mumford, the second suspect charged in the woman's murder.


Victim Dies

A woman who was shot while moving her car Tuesday night has now died.

Goldsboro police say Barbara Bandy was pronounced dead at approximately 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

Attempted murder charges against Anthony Jackson and John Mumford are being upgraded to murder.

Police are looking for two men who they say tried to kill a woman Tuesday night as she was trying to move her car.

Attempted murder warrants have been issued for Anthony Jackson and John Mumford, both of Goldsboro.

Police say Barbara Ann Bandy was found in a vehicle in the 300 block of Leslie Street, she was shot in the head. Authorities say Brady was moving her car around 7:20 p.m. when she was attacked.

Bandy was initially taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and then air lifted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital. At last check she was listed in critical condition.

Goldsboro Police say a woman was shot in the head on the 300 block of North Leslie St. Tuesday night. Police were called to the scene at 7:20 p.m.

The woman's injuries were serious enough that she was taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital. The victim's name has not been released.

Police said early Wednesday morning that they were actively searching for a suspect. No name has been released.
