NEW INFO: Two Tractor Trailers Collide In Wayne County

Two tractor trailers collided in southern Wayne County, closing down Highway 111.

Authorities say the accident happened shortly after 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of Highways 111 and 55 near Seven Springs.

State troopers say one tractor trailer was heading north on Highway 111 and was trying to make a left onto Highway 55. The cab of that second tractor trailer, which was carrying hogs, caught fire.

The other big rig tipped over and the trailer was shattered.

The Highway Patrol says no one was hurt, and no hogs were injured either. They all were transferred into another truck.

The highway remains closed as crews work to clean up the debris from the crash.

I tried to run and hide, but those swine just squeeled on me. Eat more beef. Cows are dumb. Sure is hard typing with these hooves. Ban all ham. Freedom to the pigs.

I would say your wording needs revising. There would be no way all the hog would have been harmed if the hog truck had caught fire or turned over. See abc 11 for better discription

Just wondering who asked the hogs if they were ok? What was their reply?

There was another accident at the same intersection about 10 days ago. Agree they need a stop light there, not just a caution light.

There are rumble strips on both directions of HWY 111. Sounds like the driver on 111 was inattentive.

There are rumble strips on Hwy 111 both ways North and South. There are flashing lights both ways on Hwy 111. The flashing lights are red for Hwy 111. There have been numerous accidents at this very dangerous intersection.
