DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- Backup receiver Tyree Watkins has been kicked off Duke's football team after he was arrested and charged with assaulting a female.
Coach David Cutcliffe said Wednesday that Watkins was dismissed for conduct unbecoming of a member of the program.
Durham County Jail records show Watkins was arrested Monday. He was released later that day after posting $500 bond.
The 20-year-old Watkins played in 28 games during three seasons and caught 24 passes for 152 yards.
