UNC's Nicks Emerging As One Of NFL's Elite Receivers

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- While fans in San Francisco have been celebrating "The Grab" that thrust Alex Smith and Vernon Davis to the national scene, there's a pair of hands on the New York Giants making just as much news.

No! Not Victor Cruz. Try Hakeem Nicks.

The former UNC star came into the season as the Giants' No. 1 receiver and nothing really has changed despite Cruz's record-setting season. Nicks is still Eli Manning's go-to guy, and it has never been more obvious than in the playoffs. His 13 catches for 280 yards and four touchdowns rank in the top three in postseason statistics, with the four touchdowns being No. 1.

And while 49ers fans have marveled at Davis' game-winning catch against the Saints, Nicks was the difference against the Packers.

The NFL needs to test him for banned substances, cause Nicks never done anything until this year. Being he is from UNC, I'm not surprised if he is trying to find a way to cheat and get by with it.

Correct. That is what UNC-CHeat does best, cheat. The NCAA is about to hammer the football program for this in... 5,4,3,2... tick tock. "The Carolina way" exposed as a sham.

AMEN! UNC should get something similar to what SMU got back in the 80's when they got what was called the death penalty.

OK, you enjoy your day too! That's the way sports and talented athletes are compensated in our society. I'm sure you're making "millions" too, huh Chris? So, instead of refuting the assertion that this guy attended our "flagship" school on scholarship and did not have the capability of succeeding in the classroom (especially in light of all the recent academic fraud and scandal with athletics at UNC), you are going to play the "my daddy makes more money than your daddy card"? LOL, indeed!

Yes, I read just fine. Also, I write a whole lot better than you do. Write much? I was saying that, of course, Nicks makes more money than Chris, you, and I put together. That much is obvious. Do you have a keen sense of the overtly obvious much? My point, again, is that Chris predicted UNC bashing. I am giving him that very UNC bashing based on the fact that UNC admitted a stduent athlete that does not have the IQ to do well in most regualr courses at most universities. Now, should I repeat this asssertion again for you? Or word it some other way so that you may understand the basis of the argument? Do you "read much"? Apparently you don't comprehend "much". Maybe you should just take your toys and venture into another exchange as you can't keep up this one.

Well, here comes another UNC bashing!

The guy is undeniably talented. He also scored a pathetic 11 on the Wonderlic and is widely known around UNC circles for having the intelligence level of your typical 10 year old. Yet, he went to "public ivy" (LOL), or also now known as the N.C school awaiting NCAA report for major rules violations... So, there you go. Satisfied?
