CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- The father of North Carolina freshman forward James Michael McAdoo says the family will review his NBA options but that his son "has every intention of being a Tar Heel next year."
Ronnie McAdoo said Wednesday his son will return home to Norfolk, Va., this weekend to discuss his future. Ronnie McAdoo said his son eventually wants to play in the NBA, but said James Michael is happy at school and that "we anticipate that he will continue to be a Tar Heel."
The 6-foot-9 forward improved significantly late in the year with more minutes after junior John Henson missed three games with a sprained left wrist. McAdoo had 15 points in Sunday's regional final loss to Kansas.
He was regarded as a possible first-round pick when he entered college.
