Sheriff Susan Johnson says three people were having trouble in the water late Saturday afternoon in the Old Tides Inn area of Currituck County.

Bystanders were able to reach two of the swimmers, but they were unable to get to the third person.

Monday morning around 10:15 a.m. the body of 16-year-old Thomas Harman was found around the 13.5 milepost.
